Platt / Self-checkout counters

Your software. Our steel.

Enclosures, work surfaces and frames for self-checkout — screen-agnostic, scanner-agnostic, terminal-agnostic. We build the furniture. You keep the intelligence.

4.2

We do not make software. That is deliberate, and it is permanent.

No cameras. No AI. No platform. We do not design products at all.

You bring the hardware, the software and the drawing. We bring the factory that turns it into a unit you can ship for a decade — and your drawing stays yours.

Three build envelopes

Compact

minimum footprint, basket-sized transactions.

Standard

full bagging area, the volume envelope.

Bulky-goods

deep well and reinforced load path for DIY, garden and station formats.

These are envelopes, not products. You draw the counter; we tool for the family.

4.4

How your drawing becomes a repeatable part

  1. 1

    You send the drawing.

We quote it, with tooling costed as its own line. No changeover cost buried in a piece price.

  2. 2

    We build a first article.

Six to eight weeks at the outside, at a cost agreed before we start.

  3. 3

    You get numbers, not assurances.

A validated first article with a measurement report. It either matches your drawing or it does not, and you can see which.

  4. 4

    Series production begins.

Four weeks from order. Minimum ten pieces. Minimum two hundred a year.

4.7

A checkout is furniture that has to behave like an instrument.

Cut-outs that fit bought-in electronics with no slop. Cable routes and service access an engineer can reach without dismantling the till. A load path that holds a full basket leaned on. And a finish that still looks new after a year of trolley strikes.

4.8

We have taken this exact product from drawing to delivery.

A customer sent us a drawing for a self-service checkout. We cut, bent and welded the body. We sourced the electronics. We assembled the unit, tested it, packed it and shipped it — a working machine, not a kit.

It is why this page exists.
